Why I Switched

Why did I switch? This is the first question my Mac using friends asked me when they saw me at the MacWorld Expo this year. My answer was, "I wanted my home computer to be fun again". I enjoy working with computers — that is why I went into IT as a profession. But my Windows home computer became an endless list of maintenance tasks to perform - most of them related to security.

I never had any security issues with my Windows computers; but I had to spend hours each month on various security related tasks to keep them that way. Tasks like running the security updates, updating the anti-virus definitions, maintaing the partition backups in addition to the data backups, and constantly learning about the newest security threats. That is not fun. It was too much like work for me.
